Retired marketing/advertising executive, marketing consultant, now writer and lecturer, Past District Governor Rotary District 5870

Having been born and raised in the Mississippi Delta, after college and a brief stint in the Army, Gene Holiman and his new bride Kathleen settled in Memphis, Tennessee (where legend says that the Delta actually begins in the lobby of the Hotel Peabody). The Holiman’s became Texans in the early Eighties to continue the author’s career in marketing and advertising.

In 2012, Gene retired from his professional roles to shift his focus primarily to an encore writing career and to ignite his growing interest in civic involvements through church organizations and leadership positions in Rotary District 5870 in Central Texas.

Today, the Holiman’s enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren –  all of whom fortunately live in the Greater Austin area – and pursuing their dreams of additional train travel across the continent aboard Amtrak and VIA Rail.
